Leon Balogun lists his expectations from Argentina Friendly

Nigeria defender Leon Balogun believes the Super Eagles will learn a lot from the friendly against Argentina, after a good test in the dead rubber game against Algeria.

Balogun captained Nigeria in the 1-1 draw against Algeria in the final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday.

Although the Eagles had already qualified for next summer’s tournament, Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr selected some of his regulars for the game.

“I think the game was a good start, a great preparation match the Algerians came out aggressive.

“This can happen to us in the World Cup too so we need to prepare for everything,” the 29-year-old defender quipped.

Meanwhile, Leon Balogun is in line to earn his 10th cap for Nigeria in Tuesday’s friendly match against Argentina.

Speaking ahead of the game, Balogun said the game will be a “big challenge” and expects it will help the Coaches make proper assessments.

“Now we wait for the game against Argentina, which will be a big challenge, but, I think it’s a good way to see where we still have work to do; where we are good already and another opportunity to grow strong as a team.”
