Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo announced on Sunday (Nov 12) that he had become a father for the fourth time after girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to a baby girl, Alana Martina.
“Alana Martina has just been born! Both Geo and Alana are doing great. We are all very happy,” the beaming 32-year-old footballer wrote on Twitter, posting a photo of himself, Rodriguez, his seven-year-old son Cristiano Junior and the new arrival.
Ronaldo is also the father of twins, Eva and Mateo, who were born in June. Ronaldo is believed to have fathered the twins with a surrogate mother in the United States and Cristiano Junior is his son from a previous relationship.
At the end of October, the Portuguese star had revealed in a video on social media the name of the child as well as the proposed due date of the baby, initially fixed on Nov 21.
Ronaldo was on hand for the birth of Alana Martina after being rested by Portugal coach Fernando Santos for friendly matches against Saudi Arabia and the United States during the ongoing international break.
Last week, the superstar footballer spoke about the essence being a dad as he launched his CR7 Junior Collection clothing line.
It’s taught me things about love that I never knew existed. It has softened me and given me a different perspective on what is really important in my life,” Ronaldo had said.
The 22-year-old Rodriguez was reportedly due to give birth around November 21 but went to the hospital earlier today. Reports in Spain reveal that Ronaldo was given time off from his duties with Portugal’s international fixtures since there were no club matches, the forward had time to embrace fatherhood.
Ronaldo has been in an open relationship with Rodriguez which was made public last year.
The 32-year-old’s eldest son Cristiano Jr was born on June 17, 2010, in the United States.
