Nigeria’s Super Falcons hold the record for most titles (10) won in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nation and have dominated the continent for years but, the team is suffering according to Ex-Eagles goalkeeper Dosu Joseph.
The Super Falcons have not played a competitive match since winning their most recent AWCON title in 2016.
The champions also refused to turn in the trophy or check out of their designated hotel rooms during the period, as part of their sit-in protest; causing a major fallout between the NFF and some players.
In an interview with brila.net Dosu Joseph, who won Olympic gold with the U23 in 1996, scored the NFF high in certain areas, he explained that the neglect of the female national has been insufferable.
‘The Federation has been doing well lately, you could hardly fault them for anything. Anything but the way the Female team has been.
‘The Nigerian female team is suffering and they (NFF) need to give them something,’ Dosu opined.
