PSG ‘will try to lure’ Jose Mourinho from Manchester United in summer after his praise for the ‘special’ club

Paris Saint-Germain[PSG] is ready to test Jose Mourinho ’s loyalty to Manchester United in the summer, according to reports.

Mourinho piled praise on PSG last week, branding the French club ‘special’ and saying he was ‘sure’ he would not end his career at Old Trafford, comments that raised doubts about his own future.

PSG’s admiration for Mourinho is no secret, having failed with a move for the Portuguese before he took the reins at United, and the mega-rich French club is set to tempt him once again at the end of the season, reports The Sun.

Unai Emery is the manager tasked with leading Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Co this term but unless he wins the Champions League trophy coveted by the club’s Qatari owners he is likely to be sacked.

Mourinho has denied he is ready to leave United since his comments in praise of PSG, but he could be tempted to link back up with Antero Henrique, the club’s new sporting director, with whom he worked at Porto.

As Porto’s transfer guru Henrique was responsible for unearthing the likes of Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez.

Mourinho told French TV channel TF1: ‘The only thing I can say is that I’m still a coach with worries, with ambitions and with the desire to do new things. And I don’t believe… no, I’m sure that I won’t end my career here (at United).

He added: ‘The other day my son who lives in London went to Paris and not to Manchester to watch the match. Because at the moment in Paris there is something special. Magic, quality, youth, it’s fantastic.’

But the 54-year-old boss, who still lives in a hotel in Manchester after nearly a year and a half working at United, then said on Tuesday: ‘I’m not signing a new five-year contract and I’m not leaving for PSG.’

Speaking ahead of United’s trip to Benfica in the Champions League, he added on his future: ‘The answer is that nothing is happening.’
