Controversial Referee Joshua Bondo named for Nigeria vs Zambia Clash

FIFA has named Botswana Referee, Joshua Bondo as the center referee for Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia.

Bondo, 39, will officiate alongside his countrymen Oamogetse Godisamang (40), who will serve as Assistant Referee 1 and Tirelo Mositwane (30) as Fourth Official.

Souru Phatsoane from Lesotho will be the Assistant Referee 2.

The Referee has been an international arbiter for the past 10 years.

However, recently Bondo was sanctioned for “his diabolical officiating” in the COSAFA cup match between Zimbabwe and Madagascar.

He was eventually booted out of the competition for poor performance as per chronicle.co.zw

Meanwhile, Nigeria is on course to seal a sixth FIFA World Cup appearance if the Eagles secure a win against the resurgent Chipolopolo in Uyo.
