Ademola Lookman scored in Atletico Madrid’s 4-2 La Liga win against Espanyol at the weekend.
Espanyol initially took the lead in the 6th minute through Jofre Carreras, but Alexander Sorloth equalized in the 21st minute with a precise left-footed strike from the left side of the six-yard box into the bottom right corner.
Giuliano Simeone put Atletico ahead in the 49th minute, finishing a pass from Alex Baena at the centre of the box.
Nine minutes later, Lookman made his mark. From a corner, the ball reached Matteo Ruggeri, who headed it wide, but Lookman reacted quickly, flying in and directing a header into the net.
Sorloth added a fourth for Atletico in the 72nd minute, before Edu Exposito pulled one back for Espanyol in the 80th minute.
Diego Simeone spoke about Lookman’s impact and development:
“Lookman mainly brings goals. More goals than overall play. He can still improve his overall play and defensive work. We need him to adapt to the team’s way of playing in those aspects.

Simeone’s Message to Lookman
“He has that goal-scoring instinct, those goals he has scored are no coincidence. But we also need more from him in the overall game.”
