The Nigeria Football Federation will not entertain approaches for the Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, before his contract expires.
According to NFF President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the Super Eagles coach will see his contract as the only way to take up a new job.
Gusau’s reaction follows Chelle’s revelation of his dream to join Real Madrid, the 48 year-old has been in the news with interest after his campaign with Nigeria at the 2025 AFCON.
The Franco-Malian admits that the Real Madrid coaching job is one is will be willing to take in spite of ongoing contract extension talks with the NFF.

Speaking in an interview released by the Super Eagles media, NFF boss, Gusau played down concerns that the Super Eagles could leave before 2027.
‘We still have a one year contract with Eric,’ Gusau said emphatically. ‘Whatever interest anyone shows they’ll have to wait until his contract expires.’
‘The dream of every single coach is to achieve success especially in big tournaments. The key thing is that I know Coach Eric believes in the Super Eagles and he believes he can achieve whatever he wants to achieve in his career especially with the national team on the continent.’

‘He has so much believe in the Super Eagles and he has every confidence that he can achieve all his dreams with the Super Eagles.’
Eric Chelle was appointed as Super Eagles coach in 2025 on a two-year deal and has taken charge of 22 official matches (14W, 3D, 5L).
