Nigeria’s Super Falcons midfielder, Halimatu Ayinde will remain in Sweden ahead of the new season after completing a move to Damallsvenskan champions, BK Häcken.
Ayinde joins Häcken following her departure from FC Rosengård, bringing an end to her spell with the Malmö-based club.
The experienced midfielder now links up with the reigning Swedish champions as they prepare to defend their domestic crown and compete on the European stage.
Halimatu Ayinde Secures Move Within Familiar Territory
The move ensures Ayinde continues her career in a familiar environment, having already established herself as one of the most reliable midfielders in Swedish women’s football.
However, it also presents a fresh challenge at one of the country’s most ambitious and successful clubs.
Known for her tactical intelligence, ball-winning ability and positional discipline, Ayinde adds depth, leadership and continental experience to Häcken’s squad as they look to build on last season’s success both at home and in Europe.
A mainstay of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Ayinde’s presence is expected to strengthen Häcken’s midfield structure, particularly in high-pressure matches where control, composure and defensive balance are crucial.

From Kaduna to the Top of African Football
Ayinde’s journey to the top of African football is as compelling as her performances on the pitch.
Born in Kaduna, in northern Nigeria, to a Yoruba father and an Igbo mother, Ayinde grew up in conservative neighbourhoods where girls were expected to marry young not chase football dreams.
Defying cultural expectations, she would sneak out to play barefoot with boys in secret, driven by a passion that refused to be silenced.
From those hidden kickabouts to patrolling midfields at the highest level, Ayinde’s story is one of defiance, faith and resilience.
