Galatasaray have identified Ademola Lookman as a major attacking target and are actively assessing the possibility of bringing the Nigerian forward to Istanbul, according to multiple reports from Turkey and across Europe.
Prominent Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu revealed that the Turkish champions have already initiated early discussions and are expected to reach out to Lookman’s representatives as part of their long-term transfer strategy.

Buruk Driving Ademola Lookman Pursuit
Galatasaray Head coach, Okan Buruk is said to be the key figure behind the push for Lookman. Buruk reportedly believes the Atalanta winger would significantly elevate Galatasaray’s attacking quality, highlighting his:
-
Pace on the flanks
-
Creativity in tight spaces
-
Versatility to operate both as a left winger and as a second striker
Buruk is also thought to be intrigued by the idea of pairing Lookman with Victor Osimhen, another long-term target for Galatasaray.
The coach views the potential Nigerian duo as a combination that could transform the team’s offensive identity.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano cautions that Lookman is not the club’s only option, with Galatasaray evaluating several profiles for future windows.
A concrete move is considered more feasible in 2026, depending on market dynamics and the club’s financial planning.

Galatasaray Preparing €40 Million Bid for Ademola Lookman
According to GOAL, the Turkish giants are preparing a €40 million offer. The figure is meant to signal genuine intent and one that would test Atalanta’s resolve.
Lookman, the reigning CAF African Player of the Year, is reportedly open to leaving Atalanta. His departure was blocked last summer, causing a brief standoff in which he missed the beginning of the season.
Former coach Ivan Jurić persuaded him to return to the squad, but the club has since replaced Jurić with Raffaele Palladino, reopening uncertainty over Lookman’s long-term future.
Unsettled Future in Bergamo
So far this season, Lookman has scored one goal in seven appearances, and while he remains a key figure, Atalanta’s internal changes and the player’s own ambitions suggest a potential exit could be on the horizon.
