Nigeria’s emerging talent Goodness Osigwe ended her maiden campaign in Sweden on a memorable note after scoring her first-ever goal for Djurgården in their 3–0 victory over Växjö DFF on Sunday, the final day of the 2025 OBOS Damallsvenskan season.
The home side established early control at the Stockholms Stadion, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute through Urara Watanabe, who finished calmly after a well-worked attacking move.
Djurgården continued to dominate and were rewarded shortly after the restart when Mimmi Wahlström doubled the advantage in the 50th minute, putting the game firmly beyond Växjö’s reach.
Goodness Osigwe Makes Instant Impact Off the Bench
Osigwe, who joined Djurgården at the start of the season from Nigerian champions Edo Queens, entered the match in the 70th minute, replacing Lucia Duras.
The 20-year-old forward made the most of her opportunity, slotting home Djurgården’s third goal in the 90th minute with composure and sharp instincts and scoring her first competitive goal for the Swedish side.
Her late contribution sealed a comfortable win, complimenting the progress she has made during her debut campaign in Europe.

Djurgården Finish Fourth
With the victory, Djurgården closed out the 2025 league season in fourth place, ending the campaign seven points behind Malmö FF, who occupied the final European qualification spot.
The Stockholm club will take several positives into the next season after narrowly missing out on continental football.
