Werder Bremen head coach, Horst Steffen has spoken about Victor Boniface, praising the forward for his dedication to the team and his positive influence in the dressing room.
“I’ve come to know him as a very likeable person; he’s personable, approachable, and committed to the team. We laugh a lot together and I think it’s great when a player has such a sense of humor and shows real joy.
“He fits right into our group. I don’t know what others say or how it was elsewhere.
“You can already see that he is finding his stride. He scored a goal against Bayern Munich, but it was unfortunately ruled offside. Still, he will keep trying.
“It’s clear we need him and we have to get him into shape so that he can be at his best. In my opinion, he’s just not there yet, but we’re continuing to work on it. We’re very happy with him and he knows it.”
Boniface joined Werder Bremen on a loan deal in the summer after enduring a difficult spell at Bayer Leverkusen due to injuries.

In his first season he missed 23 games for club and country, and in his second he missed 14, but that did not stop him from showing his quality, scoring 32 goals and providing 12 assists in 61 matches.
His move to Werder Bremen is aimed at securing more game time and helping him return to full form.
So far, he has only made substitute appearances for Bremen; in the games against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Freiburg, and Bayern Munich.

The 24-year-old knows he must impress during his loan spell to regain his place at Bayer Leverkusen under Kasper Hjulmand.
He also needs to find form quickly if he is to earn a place in Nigeria’s squad for the African Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in December.
