Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has signed a two-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain Féminine, completing a blockbuster move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The 25-year-old forward joins as a free agent after leaving Atlético de Madrid at the end of last season.
PSG confirmed the signing on Tuesday morning, announcing that Ajibade has committed to the club until June 30, 2027, with an option to extend.
The Nigerian star, fresh off leading the Super Falcons to Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) glory in July, expressed her excitement over the next chapter of her career.
“I’m deeply honoured to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a top-drawer club in Europe,” Ajibade said.
“This is a major step for me, and I’m committed to giving my all to help PSG win titles and to inspire young footballers, be they in Nigeria or elsewhere.”

Rasheedat Ajibade – Fresh From WAFCON Glory
Ajibade’s stock has risen sharply after she captained Nigeria to their record 10th continental title at WAFCON 2024 in Morocco.
Her leadership and standout performances, including one goal and two assists, earned her the Player of the Tournament award.
She now joins fellow Nigerian teammate, Jennifer Echegini at PSG, strengthening the club’s squad as they aim to reclaim the Ligue 1 Féminine title they last won in 2021.
Grass-to-Grace Journey
Ajibade’s rise to stardom is a true Nigerian success story. She began her career at FC Robo Queens in Lagos before moving to Norway’s Avaldsnes IL at just 17.
In 2021, she joined Atlético Madrid, where she became a key figure and fan favourite.
Off the pitch, Ajibade has been candid about her challenging upbringing in Mushin, Lagos, where she grew up in a compound with “almost 100 people” and took odd jobs like washing toilets and hawking drinks to support her family.
PSG Strengthening Squad
The addition of Ajibade is part of PSG’s ambitious plans to reclaim domestic dominance and challenge for European glory.
She has already joined her new teammates in training ahead of the upcoming season.
“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the signing of Nigerian international Rasheedat Ajibade, who has committed to the club until June 30, 2027,” the club said in its statement.
A New Era for Rasheedat Ajibade
At 25, Ajibade is entering her prime and will be expected to bring her pace, flair, and leadership to the Parisian side.
Her partnership with Echegini adds another exciting layer to PSG’s attacking options as the French Giants aim to dominate and seek European Glory.
