Turkish giants Beşiktaş have publicly denied reports linking them with Nigeria international, Henry Onyekuru.
The transfer speculation suggests that talks had been ongoing between Beşiktaş and the winger.
Per Buchi Laba, “Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru might be back playing in the Turkish League!
– Beşiktaş sent an offer, with talks being held for days.
– Now Fenerbahçe are about to overtake Beşiktaş on the deal. They sent a better, improved offer to Henry.”
However, Beşiktaş responded through an official statement on their social media platforms, firmly denying the report.
The club wrote:
A Statement from Our Club “Regarding the visual press and social media, the news circulating about our club engaging in transfer negotiations with professional footballer Henry Onyekuru is entirely unfounded.
We respectfully request that all developments concerning our first team be followed through our official channels, and that news not shared by our club be given no credence.
Sincerely, Beşiktaş JK”

Despite the denial, the Nigerian journalist doubled down on his claims, responding to the club’s statement with:
“We shall see who’s right at the end of the day, Beşiktaş SK.”
This wouldn’t be the first time a club denied interest in a player only for a transfer to eventually materialize.
With the transfer window still open, it remains a situation worth monitoring.
