Super Eagles and Kano Pillars forward, Ahmed Musa has expressed his delight at being recalled to the national team following a 15-month absence from international duty.
The 32-year-old last featured in a Super Eagles squad during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast under former coach José Peseiro.
Although he made the squad, he did not feature in any of the matches.
Now under new head coach Eric Chelle, Musa has been handed another opportunity this time as part of a squad that also features nine home-based players.

Musa, speaking to the Super Eagles media team in London, acknowledged the frustration among Nigerian fans over the team’s recent form.
“Yeah, we know that a lot of Nigerians are, I would say, very disappointed in the Super Eagles,” Musa said.
“But I will always call on them to just keep on supporting us because that is what we need right now. Their support will make a very big impact for us.”
“For me, I’m always very happy when I get a call-up, so it’s good to be back. It’s been a long time away, but I don’t think there’s any difference, so we’ll just wait to see what happens on matchday.”
Musa praised the inclusion of NPFL players in the squad, crediting Coach Chelle’s for giving home based talents a chance.

“We can see a lot of home-based players in the squad because I think the coach watches a lot of games in the Nigerian league, so I feel very happy for them.”
Kano Pillars this season, Musa has scored 10 goals in 23 league appearances and helping the club secure a ninth-place finish in the NPFL.
Nigeria will face arch-rivals Ghana in their Unity Cup opener, Today, at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford.
