Former Beşiktaş midfielder Sinan Engin has heaped praise on Victor Osimhen for his stellar performances at Galatasaray this season while criticizing other signings for failing to provide adequate support to the Nigerian forward.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray from Napoli last summer, has been a standout performer for the Yellow-Reds, delivering consistently across all competitions.
The 26-year-old has been directly involved in 29 matches, scoring 23 times and providing five assists.
His contributions have been instrumental in Galatasaray’s push to retain the Turkish Süper Lig title.
Speaking to Habersarikirmizi, Engin analyzed Galatasaray’s season and highlighted Osimhen as the driving force behind the team’s success.
“We always say the same thing, but Victor Osimhen carries Galatasaray,” Engin stated.
He went on to criticize the club’s other signings, claiming they have failed to match Osimhen’s impact.
“Not all of the transfers Galatasaray made this season contribute as much as Osimhen. All of the other transfers contribute at a rate of 50%-60%.”
Galatasaray invested heavily in strengthening their squad, bringing in high-profile names such as Gabriel Sara and Álvaro Morata, but none have been as influential as Osimhen.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s head coach Eric Chelle will be hoping Osimhen can carry his club form into the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

With Nigeria struggling in Group C, Osimhen’s performances will be crucial in their bid to turn things around and secure a spot in the tournament set to be hosted in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
He has been named in the final 23-man squad list and will lead the frontline for the three-time African champions.
