Midfielder, Christy Ucheibe won the Taça da Liga title with Benfica, securing the 2024/25 edition with a 2-1 victory over Sporting CP in Sunday’s final at the Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa.
Sporting CP took an early lead through Diana Silva, who opened the scoring in the 9th minute. However, Benfica responded in the 20th minute, with Brazilian forward Lais netting the equalizer.
As the match neared its conclusion, Carole Costa struck the winning goal in the 88th minute, ensuring Benfica retained the Taça da Liga title.
Ucheibe played the full 90 minutes, contributing significantly to Benfica’s triumph as she added another title to her growing list of achievements with the club.
This victory marks Benfica’s fourth consecutive Taça da Liga title, continuing their dominance since Braga won the competition in the 2021/22 season.

The Eagles have now claimed six of the last seven Taça da Liga trophies, further cementing their supremacy in Portuguese women’s football.
