Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen delivered the winning goal as Galatasaray secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Alanyaspor at the GAIN Park Stadium, keeping them firmly on course for a third consecutive Turkish Super Lig title.
With fierce rivals Fenerbahce breathing down their necks, Galatasaray needed nothing less than a win to maintain their grip at the top of the table.
However, they faced a tough challenge against Alanyaspor, who struck first in the 23rd minute through Tonny Vilhena’s clinical finish.
Despite dominating possession, the defending champions struggled to break down Alanyaspor’s resilient defense in the first half.
However, they came out stronger after the break and quickly found an equalizer in the 51st minute when Alanyaspor defender Fidan Aliti inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.
Eleven minutes later, Osimhen stepped up when it mattered most. Rising highest to meet a well-delivered cross, the Nigerian striker powered a precise header past the goalkeeper to complete the turnaround and put Galatasaray in control.
Osimhen was substituted in the 90th minute for Ahmed Kutucu, but his goal ultimately proved to be the match-winner as the Lions secured all three points.
The forward has now registered 22 goals and five assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this season, further cementing his status as a key player for Okan Buruk’s side.

The victory extends Galatasaray’s lead at the top of the Super Lig to seven points ahead of Fenerbahce, who have a game in hand.
With ten matches left in the season, the Lions can almost taste the title, but they must maintain their momentum to fend off their closest challengers.
While upcoming fixtures against Trabzonspor and Besiktas will be tricky, their overall schedule appears favorable. If they continue their fine form, a third straight Super Lig triumph is well within reach.
