Rangers legend Kris Boyd has praised Alex Iwobi for his crucial assist in Fulham’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.
Iwobi played a key role in Fulham’s opener, setting up Raul Jiménez in the 35th minute with a brilliant solo run from his own half down the right flank.

The midfielder drove forward with intent before delivering a pinpoint cross that Jiménez expertly controlled on his chest before volleying past Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
However, Fulham’s lead was short-lived as Brighton responded just five minutes later.
Jan Paul van Hecke, left unmarked at the back post, headed home a free kick from Yasin Ayari to register his first goal for the club.
Joao Pedro then sealed a dramatic 2-1 victory for Brighton, strengthening their push for European football next season.
The assist took Iwobi’s goal contributions for the season to 11, with seven goals and four assists in 33 matches across all competitions.
Reacting to Iwobi’s delivery, Boyd, speaking on Sky Sports, acknowledged the quality of the pass but emphasized the brilliance of Jiménez’s finish.
“It’s a top finish. The ball from Iwobi is good but the finish is better. He chests the ball down before firing a left-footed strike into the back of the net,” Boyd said.
Iwobi, who has been one of Fulham’s standout performers this season, played 89 minutes before being substituted for Ryan Sessegnon.
Despite the defeat, his creativity and work rate continue to continue to make him a vital part of Marco Silva’s squad.
With Fulham still aiming for a top-half finish, the Super Eagles star will be eager to maintain his form and help his team bounce back in their next fixture.
