Nigeria’s Juliet Sunday starred in Hapoel Beer Sheva’s emphatic 6-0 victory over Netanya Girls in the quarter-finals of the Israeli Women’s State Cup.
The former Bayelsa Queens forward scored a brace to help her team secure a spot in the semi-finals.
Sunday opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Shanice Foster doubled the lead 11 minutes later.
The Nigerian forward then netted her second goal of the match, putting Beersheva in complete control.
Shaked Oroviz added a fourth in the 82nd minute, while Asl Shekh Sleman sealed the rout with two late strikes in the 88th and additional minutes of stoppage time.
Elsewhere, Esther Onyenezide’s Katamon also progressed to the semi-finals after a 3-0 extra-time victory over Hadera.
However, Barakat Olaiya’s Tel Aviv exited the competition following a 2-0 defeat to Kiryat Gat.
Hapoel Beersheva will now turn their focus to the next round as they continue their pursuit of silverware.
