The players and officials of the Shooting Stars, visited injured Abia Warriors striker, Sunday Adetunji at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.
The visit was shortly after 3SC’s training session for Sunday Adetunji’s League fixture against Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
Although, the entourage could not speak directly with the player, who was soundly asleep, (having just undergone a successful operation) they prayed for his fast healing.
Adetunji, who played for the Oluyole Warriors last season, joined the Warriors at the beginning of the season.
The player had netted 14 goals for Warriors until he broke his arm in his club’s 4-2 away victory against Lobi Stars of Makurdi. He scored a brace in the game.
The injury which has already cost him his place in the CHAN Eagles squad, per 3SC.com.ng will likely keep him sidelined for the rest of the season.
He got injured while heading in his second goal of the game, landing awkwardly on his left arm which led to the fracturing.
He was taken to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital where doctors assured him that the injury was not life threatening.
According to Dr Enyinnaya Anozie, the head of Abia Warriors medical unit, the striker is in stable condition after receiving treatment.
It was a sad end to a game which Adetunji dominated, scoring first just after the restart to bring Abia Warriors level after they had gone behind courtesy of Kingsley Eduwo in the 26th minute.
Anthony Okemmiri put Abia Warriors in the lead in the 62nd minute before Adetunji scored again to make it 3-1 for the visitors.
Meanwhile, the management of Abia Warriors, in its message delivered by Coach Biffo, expressed appreciation on the concerns shown by the Shooting Stars.
