Super Eagles Must Win All Matches at AFCON – Okpala

Former Nigerian international Sylvanus Okpala has emphasized that the Super Eagles must aim for victory in every match at the upcoming AFCON, regardless of their opponents.

Nigeria has been drawn into Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania for the tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco.

While Tunisia, a former AFCON winner, is seen as the toughest challenge, Okpala insists that no team should be underestimated.

“If you want to win AFCON, you have to win all your matches, no matter who is in your group or who you face next,” Okpala told Brila.net.

“The Tunisians, we know them well. Uganda and Tanzania are also teams to fear. The most important thing is that we have to win all matches, no matter who we are playing.”

Nigeria leads the group in AFCON history with three titles, while Tunisia has one, and both Uganda and Tanzania are yet to win the tournament.

The 2025 AFCON kicks off on December 21, with 24 teams competing for a place in the final on January 18, 2026.
