Nigeria Forward Jerome Akor Adams has completed his transfer to Spanish giants Sevilla, signing a contract that ties him to the club until 2029.

The 24-year-old forward joins the Rojiblancos from Ligue 1 side Montpellier in a move that highlights Sevilla’s intent to strengthen their attacking options.

Adams wasted no time immersing himself in his new environment, attending Sevilla’s match against RCD Espanyol on Saturday, his first day as part of the team.

He has been handed the number 15 jersey, previously worn by Gonzalo Montiel.

The Nigerian international has been in fine form this season, contributing three goals and three assists in 15 Ligue 1 appearances before his switch to Spain.

This follows an impressive stint in Norway’s Eliteserien, where he lit up the league with 17 goals in just 17 matches during the 2023 season, earning widespread recognition and briefly topping the European Golden Shoe standings.

Adams’ European journey began in 2018 when he moved from Nigeria’s Jamba Football Academy to Norwegian second-tier side Sogndal IL.

His consistent performances earned him a move to Lillestrøm SK, where he further honed his skills before joining Montpellier in 2023.

On the international stage, Adams represented Nigeria at the youth level, featuring twice for the Flying Eagles at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland.

His arrival at Sevilla bolsters the club’s Nigerian connection, joining compatriots Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho, although Iheanacho has been linked with a potential departure in the upcoming January transfer window.

With his goal-scoring pedigree and long-term deal, Akor Adams will be looking to make a significant impact in La Liga as he takes the next step in his career.
