In preparation for their highly anticipated African Nations Championship, CHAN qualifier against Nigeria, the Black Galaxies of Ghana will face Togo in an international friendly.

The friendly, scheduled in Lomé, is a crucial step in Ghana’s preparations to take on their perennial rivals.

The Black Galaxies arrived in Togo on Tuesday to finalize arrangements for the warm-up match.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles have intensified their preparations at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The CHAN Eagles recently secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Grassrunners FC in a friendly on Monday.

Ghana will host the first leg of the qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, while the return leg is set for Saturday, December 28, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

The winner of the two-legged tie will secure a spot at CHAN 2024, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

For the CHAN Eagles, this clash is more than just a qualification but also a chance at redemption.

Nigeria missed out on the last two editions of the tournament and will be eager to overturn their fortunes after losing to Ghana on penalties in 2022.
