“Mistakes Are Not Tolerated” – Baroni Pushes Dele-Bashiru to Improve

Lazio manager Marco Baroni has challenged Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to improve his performances following the Nigerian midfielder’s promising display in Lazio’s 1-0 win over Napoli at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Sunday.

Dele-Bashiru, who joined Lazio on loan from Turkish side Hatayspor this summer, delivered a near-flawless 90-minute performance, showcasing his energy and determination as the Biancocelesti secured a crucial victory.

Lazio holds a mandatory option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

Despite Dele-Bashiru’s contributions, Baroni believes the 23-year-old still needs to adapt fully to the demands of Italian football.

Speaking to Noi Biancocelesti, Baroni highlighted the challenges of transitioning from another league, where the margin for error is much smaller.

“I am happy to work with these guys; they are good, I give them opportunities, and they work hard,” Baroni said.

“Dele-Bashiru has great potential, but it’s clear he has to find the rhythm of the match, the mentality, the physicality, and the quality. It’s not easy to transition from a different league to the Italian one, where mistakes are not tolerated.”

Baroni emphasized his commitment to developing all players in the squad, particularly those with room for growth.

“For us, there is only work. We have these players to carry forward in three competitions.

I work on everyone, not just ten players, focusing on those who can grow,” he added.

Dele-Bashiru, who is still settling into his new environment, has made 11 appearances for Lazio this season, registering two goals and two assists across all competitions.

His potential and work ethic could make him a long-term asset for the Biancocelesti if he continues to rise to the occasion.
