“It Would Be a Dream Come True” – Lookman Eyes CAF Player of the Year

Ademola Lookman has expressed his desire to win the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award, describing it as a “dream come true.”

The Atalanta forward is widely considered the favorite to clinch the prestigious accolade.
Lookman is among the final five nominees for the award, which recognizes the best footballer in Africa.
His standout performances for both club and country have made him the frontrunner ahead of the December 16 ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco.
“It’s an honour to be nominated for this prestigious award. Of course, anyone who is nominated would like to win it. It’s a dream,” Lookman told Sky Sport Italia.
The Nigeria international enjoyed a stellar year, helping the Super Eagles reach the AFCON final and making history with Atalanta.
His performances earned him a 14th-place finish in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings, further solidifying his status as one of Africa’s finest players.
This season, Lookman has continued his impressive form, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 17 appearances across all competitions for Atalanta.
If Lookman wins, he will ensure Nigeria retains the title, following Victor Osimhen’s triumph last year.
The CAF Awards ceremony will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, December 16.
