Super Falcons forward, Jennifer Echegini netted a brace to lead Paris Saint-Germain to a 6-1 win over Dijon in France’s top-flight women’s league on Saturday.
In her fifth appearance for PSG since joining from Juventus, Echegini opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and just 9 minutes later, Marie-Antoinette Katoto doubled the lead.
Echegini struck again in the 36th minute, converting from a Sakina Karchaoui assist to make it 3-0.
Although she missed a penalty in first-half injury time, her teammate Manssita Traore followed up to score from the spot.
Dijon briefly reduced the deficit through Kate Taylor’s goal in the 68th minute, but PSG responded with two more goals in the second half—one from Karchaoui and another from Froya Brennskag-Dorsin—to seal a comprehensive victory.
Jennifer Echegini also provided an assist before she was substituted in the 76th minute. PSG moved second place in the league’s table with just one point behind leaders Lyon.
The Parisians will face Super Falcons goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie’s Paris FC in the upcoming Paris derby on December 12.
