NFF Should Give Eguavoen Long term Contract – Elahor

Former Nigerian international, Friday Elahor has urged the NFF to make Augustine Eguavoen’s contract with the Super Eagles a permanent role if he secures victories in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers.

Eguavoen took over on an interim basis following the resignation of Finidi George, and the breakdown of negotiations with German coach Bruno Labbadia.

Since stepping in, Eguavoen has led the Super Eagles to the top of their AFCON qualifying group, securing 10 points from three wins and one draw.

His leadership has brought stability to the team, earning him widespread support among fans.

Eguavoen’s influence within the squad has created a positive atmosphere, and his respected presence has motivated the players.

Speaking on Brila FM’s “No Holds Barred” with Ifeanyi Udeze, Elahor expressed his confidence in Eguavoen’s capability to lead the team long-term, if he performs well in the next two games.

“If he wins tomorrow’s match and delivers against Rwanda on Monday, why not?” Elahor said.

“They should give him the job as long as NFF has not contacted any coach, and nobody is on ground they should just appoint him. Give him two years contract and let us see what will happen.”

“There’s no need to keep searching for new coaches. If Eguavoen delivers, they should give him the job.”

With strong support from former players and consistent results so far, Eguavoen may be in line to secure a permanent position if he can continue the team’s success.
