Nigerian football icon, Nwankwo Kanu believes that any coach leading Super Eagles is truly fortunate.
With his storied career, Kanu speaks from experience, having represented Nigeria on the global stage – winning medals for the Country and personal accolades.
At the 1996 Olympic Games, He was a key figure in Nigeria’s famed Dream Team, where he played a pivotal role in securing gold medal in Atlanta.

Kanu scored twice in the dramatic 4-3 semi-final win over Brazil, including the decisive golden goal that sealed Nigeria’s place in the final.

Speaking with Brila.net, the two-time African Footballer of the Year, shared his thoughts on Nigeria’s coaching situation.
“Whoever coaches Nigeria is blessed. We are blessed with players; with superstars,” Kanu stated.

“The main thing is to put them together,” he continued. “It doesn’t matter who is in charge, foreign or local coach, they are blessed to manage any Nigerian team.”
“When you have a team with 40 good players, what more could a coach ask for? You have 11 players on the pitch, another 11 on the bench who want to play, you are blessed with that.

“So, when people talk I think, these people don’t understand Nigeria and Nigerian players and who we are.”
