Nigerian striker, Tolu Arokodare continued his impressive form in the current, providing an assist in KRC Genk’s 2-0 league win over Royal Antwerp, on Sunday.
The 23-year-old has now amassed 10 goal contributions this season, with 8 goals and 2 assists across 14 games.
Arokodare’s assist set up Genk’s opener just after halftime in the 46th minute. Positioned expertly in the box, he delivered a precise header to Patrik Hrosovsky, who finished with a left-footed strike into the top right corner.
Arokodare was substituted in the 73rd minute, making way for Hyun-gyu Oh. Before his exit, he completed 15 out of 21 passes, created one chance, set up a big chance, and registered one shot on target along with one blocked shot.
The forward was active in duels, winning two out of five ground challenges and two out of five aerial battles. He had 33 touches however missed one big chance.
Genk remains at the top of the league with 31 points from 13 games, standing 7 points clear of second-placed Club Brugge.
With his consistent performances, Arokodare hopes to earn a call-up to the Nigerian Super Eagles squad soon, believing his form will make a strong case for his inclusion.
