Nantes head coach, Antoine Kombouaré has confirmed that Nigerian forward Moses Simon is fit for Sunday’s Ligue 1 clash against Olympique Marseille.
The winger, who missed last week’s 3-1 loss to Strasbourg due to a knee injury, has returned to training and is set for action.
“Moses Simon is back with us. He had minor knee problems,” Kombouaré announced during a press conference.
The 29-year-old Nigerian international has been in form for Nantes this season, scoring twice in eight league appearances and Nantes currently sit 12th n the table in Ligue 1, with 10 points from nine games.
Simon’s return also comes at a crucial time for the Super Eagles, who are leading Group D in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
With 10 points from four games, Super Eagles need just a point to qualify but the team squad has been affected by injuries to key players.
Simon’s recovery is expected to strengthen the team ahead of their upcoming qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
