Fulham coach, Marco Silva has shared his thoughts on Alex Iwobi’s latest music release, expressing confidence in the midfielder’s talent beyond football.
Iwobi recently released his second single, What’s Luv?, featuring close friend SPKS and rising artist MBrown.
This comes after he debuted his music career earlier this year with the track ‘Don’t Shoot’.
Despite mixed reactions from fans, Iwobi seems committed to building his music career alongside his footballing journey.
Silva, speaking ahead of Fulham’s upcoming match against Brentford, revealed he hasn’t listened to Iwobi’s new song yet, but he’s heard good things from the players.
“I haven’t listened to it. The boys were talking about it in the gym. He (Iwobi) has a lot of talent, I’m sure it’s very good.” Fulham’s social media also showed support, sharing Silva’s comments on their X account.
Iwobi isn’t the first footballer to explore a career in music.
England legend Paul Gascoigne, former Manchester United striker Andy Cole and ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech have all ventured into music.
Last year, an anonymous rapper named ‘Dide’ stirred curiosity by claiming to be an active Premier League player.
As for Fulham, they’ll be looking to break their recent dry spell against Brentford.
In their last two meetings, Brentford have held the upper hand, including a 3-0 victory in their first encounter last season.
Iwobi, who has already netted two goals this season, hopes to add to his tally and perhaps celebrate his latest track with a goal on Monday, continuing his strong start to the campaign.
