Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho has finally ended his goal drought, scoring his first goals for Sevilla this season.
The Nigerian striker struck twice in Sevilla’s 3-0 victory over Las Rozas in the Copa del Rey, marking a much-needed breakthrough.
Iheanacho opened his account in the 69th minute, doubling Sevilla’s lead.
He then sealed the win with another goal in the 79th minute, much to the delight of head coach Javier Pimienta, who has stood by the striker during his struggles.
Before this match, Iheanacho had gone six games without a goal, but his brace now gives him two goals in six appearances for the club.
With compatriot Chidera Ejuke sidelined through injury, Iheanacho will be hoping to carry this form into the league.
Sevilla’s next challenge comes on Sunday, as they face Real Sociedad, where Iheanacho will be looking to earn another starting spot and build on his momentum.
