Super Falcons forward, Gift Monday has expressed her excitement following Nigeria’s 4-1 victory against Algeria, and her goal in the encounter, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Tuesday.
Monday scored Nigeria’s third goal to stretch the team’s lead minutes before the half-time.
The attacking midfielder had hoped for more goals on the day, “I am grateful to God. I should have scored more than one goal but at the same time, I won’t take the sole goal for granted.”
The 22 year-old currently plays for Spanish Liga F club, UDG Tenerife as a forward alongside Rinsola Babajide.
She boast of three goals and one assist in six appearances for her team. Last month she signed a three-year extension contract with her club.
Gift Monday is expected to return to her club side following the conclusion of the international break.
