Algeria women’s head coach, Farid Benstiti has provided an update on the condition of one of his players who suffered a serious injury during their 4-1 defeat to the Super Falcons in Tuesday’s friendly match.

Following the first-leg 2-0 loss, Algeria faced another tough outing, and a collision in the second-half of the game, left one of their players needing urgent medical attention and was rushed out of the stadium.

Benstiti revealed that the injured player will remain under medical observation in Nigeria until her return home.

While he lacked detailed information on her condition, he confirmed that she would be monitored closely.

“I think she’s in hospital, but she will stay in Nigeria in the hospital because she has to travel tomorrow, not today.

“The doctor will stay with her, an Algerian official will stay with her. But I think at this time, I have no news exactly, but at this time they told me that she will stay in Nigeria in the hospital,” Benstiti stated.

The Algerian team and all back group staff were due to travel immediately after Tuesday’s match.
