Real Madrid winger, Vinicius Junior took to social media following his controversial loss of the 2024 Ballon d’Or to Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

The Brazilian star, long considered a favorite for the award, posted a cryptic message shortly after the ceremony, sparking an outpouring of support from his teammates.

Vinicius shared his reaction on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “I’ll do it 10x if I have to. They’re not ready,” a statement widely interpreted as his commitment to continue proving his worth despite the setback.

His Real Madrid teammates, Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, quickly rallied around him, openly criticizing the decision.

Camavinga expressed frustration over what he termed “Football Politics,” posting, “My brother, you are the best player in the world, and no award can say otherwise. Love you, my bro.”

Tchouameni also took to social media, adding his support for Vinicius amid the backlash.

The decision to award Rodri the Ballon d’Or has stirred controversy online, with many fans and pundits questioning the voting process.

Vinicius and Real Madrid chose not to attend the ceremony, which saw Rodri eventually crowned in Paris on Monday.

Real Madrid has been vocal about the choice of Rodri, suggesting the organizers disrespected the club by overlooking Vinicius.

The Club even stated that, if the criteria didn’t favor Vinicius, the award should go to another Madrid player, Dani Carvajal.
