German champions Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface has returned to training after a recent car accident sidelined him from the UEFA Champions League match against Brest.
The 23-year-old forward was involved in a serious car accident on Sunday, just hours after scoring the winning goal in Leverkusen’s Bundesliga match against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Despite the vehicle being severely damaged, Boniface sustained only minor injuries and was briefly hospitalized as a precaution.

Boniface’s return to training raises hopes for his inclusion in Leverkusen’s upcoming Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen.
The former Union Saint-Gilloise player has been in exceptional form this season, with five goals and one assist in seven Bundesliga appearances so far.
Last season, Boniface contributed an impressive 31 goals and assists combined, helping Leverkusen clinch both the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal titles.
His timely recovery is seen as a significant boost for the team’s ongoing campaign.
