Glasgow Rangers secured a dominant victory over FCSB in their Europa League clash, Thursday, but the win came at a cost as Super Eagles duo Cyriel Dessers and Leon Balogun were forced off with injuries.

Dessers, who started in attack, and Balogun, a key figure in the defense, both failed to complete the match due to injuries.

Balogun, who had been a solid presence at the heart of the defence, was substituted in the second half, reportedly suffering from a suspected hamstring injury.

His absence will be a significant blow to manager Philippe Clement, who considers him one of Rangers’ most reliable defenders.

Dessers, meanwhile, was substituted after appearing to suffer an eye injury, although he had been struggling to make an impact before his early exit.

Despite the setbacks, Rangers’ 4-0 victory was a historic one, marking their first four-goal triumph in a major European competition since defeating Hapoel Tel Aviv by the same scoreline in the UEFA Cup back in February 2007.

The injuries to Dessers and Balogun were the only blemishes on an otherwise stellar night for the Scottish side.
