Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis has stood by the club’s decisions to sign Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia to new deals while stressing that the wantaway Stars players must respect the club’s financial investment.

Osimhen, who arrived at Napoli from Lille in 2020, has grown into a key figure in the world of football, earning the title of African Footballer of the Year and securing a place in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

His contributions were instrumental in Napoli’s Serie A triumph in 2023, where he also claimed the league’s top scorer award and multiple individual honors.

However, tensions have arisen between Osimhen and the club following failed transfers to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia and Chelsea.

The Nigerian striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray, where he has impressed with three goals and four assists in five appearances.

Meanwhile, Kvaratskhelia is in talks with Napoli to extend his contract, though negotiations have yet to reach a conclusion.

In a recent interview with Sky Sport, De Laurentiis spoke about the club’s strategy of developing players and helping them reach their full potential.

“When we sign players, we know how to valorize them and help them reach the top,” he said.

The Napoli president also added that the club holds the final say in the futures of its players and expects mutual respect for the investments made.

“Our players will stay at Napoli for as long as we want them to. It’s never an issue when their time here ends; we’ve proven that in the past.

“We respect what players want, but they must also respect the investment we’ve made in them,” De Laurentiis concluded.
