Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has opened up about life at Leicester City following the departure of teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho.
The bond between the two Nigeria internationals goes back much further than their time together at Leicester.
Last season, Leicester City played in the Championship, but the Foxes bounced back to the Premier League with both Ndidi and Iheanacho playing pivotal roles.
However, their careers at Leicester took different paths afterwards, while Ndidi signed a three-year contract extension to remain with the club.
On the other hand, Iheanacho bid farewell after seven years, joining Spanish side Sevilla on a two-year deal as a free agent.

Ndidi, who joined Leicester City in January 2017 for €17.6 million as a replacement for N’Golo Kanté, recalled the special bond he shared with Iheanacho, who arrived later that year in August, from Manchester City for €28 million.
Their camaraderie extended beyond the pitch, and they celebrated some historic moments together—when Leicester won the FA Cup for the first time in its history and their recent promotion back to the Premier League.
In an interview with Brila.net, Ndidi reflected on Iheanacho’s departure with mixed emotions, stating how he felt when he found out.
“I felt like I’m going to miss him which I still do”Ndidi admitted. “But I couldn’t be greedy—he is also looking out for his future and he wants to try different things, which is good.”
“He’s an amazing guy, and thankfully, in the national team we’re still going to catch up.”

Ndidi acknowledged the reality of the situation but remained positive about their friendship
“I think he’s just one of those things, it’s the life you know, you can’t play with the same friends you grew up with for 20 years.”
Despite Iheanacho’s move to Sevilla, Ndidi has started the season in impressive form for Leicester, with one goal and four assists in eight matches.
