Former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has been named the new head coach of the England national team.
The German has signed a contract that begins on 1 January 2025, replacing interim manager Lee Carsley.
Carsley took over following Gareth Southgate’s resignation after the Euro 2024 final in Germany.
He will remain in charge for England’s upcoming Nations League fixtures against Greece and the Republic of Ireland next month.
Tuchel expressed his excitement: “I am extremely proud to be given the honour of leading the England team.
“I have always felt a deep connection to football in this country, and it has already provided me with some unforgettable moments.
“To be entrusted with this opportunity is a huge privilege, and I’m eager to work with this talented group of players.” He told the press.
