Former Super Eagles defender, Abiodun Obafemi believes the team can grab six points against Libya when the side’s clash in their Africa Cup of Nations double-header qualifiers.
Nigeria tops Group D of the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers after it picked up four points in the games against Benin Republic and Rwanda last month.
This Friday, the Super Eagles will return to action as they host bottom side Libya in Uyo.
The Mediterranean Knights are without a win so far, and Obafemi argues that the momentum is with Super Eagles heading into both legs of the fixture.

“There’s a great atmosphere in the team now, it’s like they’re rejuvenated and that should give them an edge in this AFCON qualifiers,” the former player told Brila.net.
“We are favorites and that will count, but the players can’t allow that get to their heads. They must avoid all the Mind games of this Libya team.”
Meanwhile, both teams have been hit by injuries to key players heading into the Friday’s game.

Notably, Nigeria will be without Victor Osimhen, who already has one goal in the campaign.
