The Senegal Football Fédération is on the search for a new head coach after parting ways with Aliou Cissé.
According to the Country’s Sports Minister, Khady Diene Gaye, the government chose not to renew Cisse’s contract.
Cisse, who took charge in 2015, led the national team to its first AFCON title in 2022 and guided the Teranga Lions to the last two World Cup tournaments.
The Senegalese FA announced that an interim coaching staff will lead the team for their two upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Malawi this month.
Senegal currently shares four points with Burkina Faso in a group that also includes Burundi.
They are unbeaten in 2026 World Cup qualifying but trail group leaders Sudan by two points after four matches.
