Nigeria’s Flamingos in Final Preparations for U-17 Women’s World Cup

The Nigerian U-17 girls’ football team, the Flamingos, are in their final training phase ahead of the 8th FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup set to be held in the Dominican Republic from October 16 to November 3, 2024.

Head coach Bankole Olowookere is camped with 35 invited players preparing for the global tournament.

Qualification Journey

The Flamingos dominated their qualification matches, scoring 25 goals over six games.

They secured their World Cup spot with a series of victories:

-defeating the Central African Republic 6-0 in both legs,

-overcoming Burkina Faso with a 7-1 aggregate, and

-winning 6-1 on aggregate against Liberia.

Nigeria is placed in Group A, where they will face:
