Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has called on his team to regroup quickly following their 3-0 loss to AS Roma and shift focus to their upcoming matches, including a key Serie A fixture against Inter Milan.
The Zebras had enjoyed a solid start to the season, remaining unbeaten in their first four league games.
However, their impressive run came to an end at the Stadio Olimpico, where they suffered their first defeat of the campaign against Roma.
Reflecting on the setback, Okoye acknowledged the disappointment but stressed the need to move on swiftly.
“We started the season well, but the match against Roma was difficult. We faced a great team,” Okoye told the club’s official website.
“We lacked a bit of movement and communication, but now we need to immediately focus on the Coppa Italia and Inter on Saturday.”
Despite the defeat, the Nigeria International remains optimistic, viewing the upcoming fixtures as crucial opportunities.
“We are disappointed, but we must look forward. Salernitana and Inter are two great opportunities. We need to stay focused,” he added.
Udinese will now turn their attention to their Coppa Italia clash before taking on Inter Milan in what promises to be a pivotal game.
