Victor Olatunji made an unforgettable debut in the UEFA Champions League, scoring and assisting in Sparta Praha’s 3-0 victory over RB Salzburg on Wednesday.
The Nigerian striker, who joined the Czech side during the summer transfer window, was handed his European debut by coach Lars Friis and quickly made an impact.
Olatunji netted Sparta Praha’s second goal in the 42nd minute before setting up Qazim Laçi for the third goal in the 58th minute, sealing a comfortable home win.
Olatunji’s performance places him among an elite group of African players to score and assist on their Champions League debut.
He becomes the third player to achieve this feat, following Daniel Cousin (for Rangers in 2007) and Serge Aurier (for PSG in 2015).
