Augsburg manager, Jess Thorup is satisfied and impressed with Frank Onyeka after the midfielder made his debut in Sunday’s 3-1 win over St. Pauli.
Onyeka, who joined Augsburg on a season-long loan from Brentford, made an immediate impact by providing an assist during the game.
Thorup, after the match revealed how quickly the 26-year-old integrated into the team despite limited training time.
“He (Frank Onyeka) only trained twice and was involved in the international matches,” Thorup said after the match.
“From the start, he showed us what a good player he is. He is ready to help the team, and that’s what he did today.”
“Maybe the only thing missing was the goal at the end, although he had an assist and played very well. For a first game, it was really an outstanding game.”
