Enyimba have touched down in Bamako, Mali, ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie against Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante.
The team arrived at Modibo Keita International Airport on Thursday evening, and will hold a light training session later today.
Etolie Filante will host the match at the Mamadou Konaté Stadium, which they adopted after their home ground failed to meet CAF’s standards.
Meanwhile, Enyimba will kick off their 2024-25 Confederation Cup campaign on Friday, September 13, at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
The People’s Elephants received a bye in the first preliminary round and are riding high after a 3-1 win over Heartland in their NPFL opener last Sunday.
While Enyimba have lifted the Champions League twice (2003, 2004), they are yet to claim the CAF Confederation Cup and are eager to secure a positive result in Bamako to boost their chances.
