Fisayo Dele-Bashiru believes the Super Eagles deserved more from their 0-0 draw against Rwanda in Tuesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
Nigeria failed to convert key opportunities from players like Ademola Lookman, Victor Boniface, Moses Simon, and Victor Osimhen.
The midfielder remained positive, noting that avoiding defeat was important.
“I think we played well, it was going to be difficult, playing away. They had their fans cheering them. Of course, there are a lot of circumstances to consider too,” Dele-Bashiru said after the match.
“The problem is that we couldn’t convert our chances. We created a lot of chances to win the game. We have to take the positive that we didn’t concede.”
He added, “This result will definitely boost our chances of qualifying for the AFCON. It is not the result we wanted but definitely not a bad one.”
