Eguavoen Eyes Second Win as Super Eagles Face Rwanda

Super Eagles interim boss, Augustine Eguavoen aims to continue the winning streak when Nigeria faces Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Today.

Eguavoen, in his first game and fourth spell as Super Eagles coach, he guided the team to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic on Saturday.

“We play to win all the time, because Nigerians expect their team to win all the time,” the Coach admitted. “And because we have a team with great personnel, we play every team with respect but we don’t get intimidated by any. ”

 

 

“Our objective for Tuesday’s game is the three points,” said Eguavoen.

 

 

 

Also echoing the sentiments of the Coach, Team captain William Troost-Ekong told journalists during the pre-match press conference that the objective was to get a victory.

“We are here for a purpose. With Coach Eguavoen, who has coached the team before, we all feel like a family. We will play for each other and go for the three points that will establish us at the top of the table.”

 

 

 

Nigeria will take on Rwanda in their second game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, with the match kicking off at 2pm (Nigeria time).

 

 

 

This is the first of four upcoming matches between the two teams, including fixtures in the World Cup qualifiers next year.
