Nigeria launched their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying campaign with a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic.
In the match held at the Nest of Champions, the Super Eagles secured the win with two goals from Ademola Lookman and a third from Victor Osimhen.
The game remained tense until Lookman broke the deadlock with a solo effort just before halftime.
Galatasaray’s new signing, Victor Osimhen, added to the lead with a half-volley shortly after being substituted in.
Lookman then sealed the victory with his second goal of the match a few minutes later.
This win marked the end of a three-match winless streak for the three-time African champions.
Nigeria will face Rwanda in their next qualifying fixture on Tuesday.
